Agate is a stone of harmony. Its keyword is protection. It gives courage, guards against danger and protects against worldly troubles. Black Agate gives boldness, victory and prosperity, while red Agate gives calm and protects against snakebite, scorpions and other insects. It is also said to protect the wearer against lightning and thunderbolts.
Agate is a typical Capricorn-stone and it protects the wearer against depression. Yellow Agate, on the other hand, belongs with Gemini and Virgo.
Place banded Agate crystals (Leo) under your pillow at night to relieve insomnia and bring good dreams (see also: Carnelian). Brown or black Agates with a white ring in the center may be used to ward off the evil eye. And if you seek peace of mind, a quietly lined Agate is your best choice.
