Labradorite
By admin on Jul. 21, 2008.
Labradorite occurs in white, yellow and grey with accents of blue and red – gold, sometimes displaying spectral colors. Labradorite can produce a colorful play of light across cleavage planes and in sliced sections called labradorescence. Gemstone varieties of labradorite exhibiting a high degree of iridescence are called ’spectrolite’.
Galaxite is a micro-variety of labradorite, with dots of labradorescent colors which resemble stars or galaxies in the night sky.
Its name is derived from its main source in Labrador, Canada, but large amounts of labradorite are also found in Finland (spectrolite) and Madagascar.
Labradorite protects and seals the aura against negative influences. It has been specifically linked to certain chakras such as the solar plexus, third eye and crown - chakra.
Labradorite has a strong protective and sealing effect on the aura, ensuring the preservation of your own energy. It is a peaceful stone which tempers emotional imbalance and reduces anxiety.
Labradorite penetrates deep in the soul, lifts mental blockades and promotes inner wisdom and intuition so that insight concerning your own spiritual destiny may arise. The labradorescence shines like a ray of ancient sunlight - that suddenly appears out of the shadows - and so it may help you to reveal your hidden spiritual gifts.
Labradorite is said to increase intuition, psychic development and esoteric wisdom. A helpful gemstone in developing the ability to see auras.
