Magnetite is a black ore that resembles hematite, with the difference that magnetite – the name says it already – is magnetic. Magnetite is the most magnetic of all the naturally occurring minerals on Earth, and these magnetic properties led to lodestone being used as an early form of magnetic compass.
Its name comes from the Greek word ‘magnes’ and means ‘magnet’.

Almost nobody will choose a magnetite for its appearance because it’s not an  attractive stone to look at. But nevertheless it’s a much used gemstone which has excellent healing qualities.
This is because it’s the best stone against violent pains. Magnetite is a real pain – killer. In case of a serious blockade – for example a hernia or sciatica -  magnetite lets the energy flow again, and as a result of this the pain leaves.

Magnetite gives the best results if it is worn at the place where the pain is located. For carpal tunnel, for example, use a bracelet; for migraines, both necklaces and bracelets give excellent results; use anklets for heel spurs, knee joint or foot problems; and in case of back, neck, or shoulder pain, necklaces are great for an over all circulation improvement. The closer to the painful area the better. Do whatever you feel comfortable with.

Magnetite can also be of great service to act as an amplifier for other stones. Use it temporarily, because a surplus of energy can arise, which could lead to nausea and dizziness.
Some people react very fast to magnetite and it is possible that the pain becomes worser at first. Then they must slowly get used to the stone. First  wear it for an hour, then for a few hours, then for a day and so on.

Beware of imitation – magnetite. A real, natural magnetite has a dull structure, doesn’t glow and the magnetism isn’t too strong.
People with a pacemaker should never wear or use magnetite !
