Rhodochrosite

By admin on Jul. 22, 2008.

Rhodochrosite is the manganese cousin of calcite. The name ‘rhodochrosite’ is derived from the Greek ‘rhodon’ which means pink, and ‘khroma’ which means color. The Incas believed that rhodochrosite was the blood of their former rulers, turned to stone, therefore it is sometimes called ‘Rosa del Inca’ or ‘Inca Rose’.

Rhodochrosite contains high quantities of manganese and has a very positive influence on our lives in general. It strengthens both body and mind and enhances love on all levels.

Rhodochrosite mainly supports people who - for various reasons - have become extremely irritable, such as people with a hypersensitive nature. It allows love to fully enter someone’s life, in part by calming excessive passions. It helps to overcome fears and encourages shy children to manifest themself in a group.

Rhodochrosite increases creativity and intuition. It stimulates the energy flow to the solar plexus and third eye. It’s a helpful gemstone when meditating. Rhodochrosite is said to protect mediumistic people and ensures mental rest.

Rhodochrosite is an excellent conductor of energy and is best worn around the neck, so it can direct the energy directly to the brain and influence the mind in a benificial way.

Rhodochrosite alleviates arthritic pains and helps to get up in the morning. Supportive in case of asthma attacks and nasal congestion. Useful gemstone to treat ailments of the skin.
