Rhodonite

Rhodonite is a manganese silicate whose name is derived from the Greek word ‘rhodon’ which means rose.
This pink to rose – red stone has characteristical inclusions of manganese oxide and very much resembles rhodochrosite, but the composition of the two gemstones is entirely different. Rhodonite is pink with black veines and rhodochrosite is pink with sometimes swirling patterns of white. While rhodochrosite entirely consists of manganese, the manganese in rhodonite is often partly replaced by iron, magnesium, calcium.
Due to the large amount of manganese, rhodonite has the following characteristics: it transforms and stabilizes emotions and helps with general irritability without clear cause. It supports sensitive and shy people who are reluctant to defend themselves. Both rhodonite and rhodochrosite help against mental confusion, they soothe and bring order to feelings that are scattered, imbalanced, or ungrounded and help to get a better grip on body and mind.
Rhodonite is a powerful woundhealer for both emotional and physical wounds. It’s also a good ‘first aid’ gemstone that calms and helps to keep a clear mind in shocking, dangerous and threatening situations, panic, confusion, and fear.
Rhodonite can be very helpful in case of quarrels and conflicts. It helps to forgive and encourages reconciliation, mutual understanding and friendship. In addition anger, frustration, hatred and revenge are reduced. Psychological wounds are softened and the gemstone has a positive influence on self behavior, dependence and abuse. Rhodonite further relieves pains and cramps and has a benificial influence on joint inflammation and scars.
