Unakite is a mixture of green epidote, pink-red jasper and gray-white quartz. It is named after the Unakas Mountains in North Carolina (USA). Unakite is an opaque gemstone with a hardness of 6 to 7 on the Mohs scale. It exists in various shades of green and red, to salmon pink, and is usually mottled in appearance.

Unakite is a centering stone which mainly works on the heart chakra, in combination with the root chakra. It reveals the cause of problems and blockades (even if this cause lies in a past life), so restrictive behaviour and thinking patterns can be broken. Unakite helps us to release mental or emotional blockades that may inhibit spiritual growth. It calms and grants wisdom.

Unakite makes cheerful and ensures that previous negative experiences are seen from a different perspective, in order to allow any blockade to be lifted. It is said to help unify the emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of self, and aligns the emotional body with spiritual awareness.

Unakite brings male (Mars, red) and female (Venus, green) energies into balance and radiates unconditional love. It provides a relaxed sexual relationship, a harmonious love life and may well be worn during pregnancy.
